Context: Escalating Tensions and Recent Developments
This event takes place against a backdrop of severely escalated strains in the Middle East. Key developments preceding this attack include:

- Nuclear Talks: Latest discussions between the US and Iranian officials on Tehran's atomic program ended inconclusively, with suggestions of further discussions scheduled.
- Official Rhetoric: Prior to the strike, a prominent American figure had described Iran as “the world’s number one sponsor of terror” and issued threats regarding its missile program.
- Ultimatum: Allegedly, a deadline of 10 to 15 days had been given to Iran to settle the atomic standoff or confront serious repercussions.
Reaction from Tehran
